Guitar cases are very tough and provide a huge amount of padding, support and protection for the contents.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;What is now widely known is that when flying with a guitar, you must release the tension in the strings, because in a cold hold - the strings contract, placing the neck under huge tension and may lead to a broken guitar neck.
