There's actually no logical or "valid" reasons for not legalizing.

So what's the valid argument against pot?

There is no valid argument for not legalizing pot. However if you start to follow the money you will find a lot of interconnections that stand to lose considerably if it is legalized. A lot of grain grown in the US goes into making beer and hard liquor. Wine grapes represent a sizeable industry on the West Coast. Legal weed would take a chuck of profits away from all of these.

Drug profits eventually end up invested back into legitimate business here in the US and elsewhere. The gun makers in the US are making a fortune on illegal small arm sales in Mexico. Of course, it is not their fault that guns purchased legally in the US wind up in the hands of criminals in Mexico. It is the same argument they use in the US. Remember guns don't kill people, people kill people. In actuality, bullets kill people which makes a fine case for making ammunition harder to get than a legal script for Oxycontin.

Weed has a pseudo legal status in CA for medical use. It is, but really it isn't would be a good way to describe it.

NBC is owned by GE, GE is owned by a bunch of uptight conservatives that have lost a boat load of money in the financial markets this past year.

So as long as the lunatics at Fox News, Limbaugh and the like can keep conservatives believing the hate and propaganda they spew on a daily basis, the status quo on weed should remain as is. If that is the case, those making money on the status quo will continue to do so while the rest of us eat shit as usual.

While the woman's does come off as totally smart and non-threatening, I think the nutty "CLOSED" that slams down on the faded in pictures takes away from the message. She also mentions teachers at the end although teachers were not in the original group of government sectors being hurt by lack of tax revenue. I would mostly complain about the "CLOSED" though since the ad takes a pragmatic and chill approach to a couple of decent-sized issues.

I think they should legalize marijuana. By doing this the drug dealers have one less thing to sell its better that the government benefits from the money of selling marijuana that foreign countries. The legalizing of marijuana is like the legalizing of alcohol. Both harm the people, why not get something from it if the people are still going to do it. Marijuana could help the economy a lot if legalized, there is going to be less minors buying it because their going to need an I.D to buy it.
