Adrants: Destructive Commentary: 'The Client is an Idiot'

I know half the money I spend on advertising is wasted. That half is account services.

Here's a few from creative departments:
"I don't care what the client wants"
"Then change the damn strategy, it's great work"
"I don't care about your relationship with the client, just sell the work"
"I don't have time to be on the stupid client call"
"You don't know s**t about creative"
"It's good work because I say so"
    "That's your problem, not mine"

Arrogant, creative "genuises" are the issue 99% of the time when it comes to losing accounts. The don't listen, just want work to put in their books or get in award shows. It's why the agency business is falling apart.
Account managers are left to deal with the mess and disbelief at clients about how stupid and inapropriate much of the creative work they see is.

Cranial garage won't last long with that type of attitude. They'll blow themselves up. Guarantee.

    Steve:

My favorite is, "we need something that'll work this time."

I lasted 15 seconds watching this.
    Sorry.
I couldn't get past that uncomfortable feeling of "this could only get worse".
I suppose the lyrics might be funny.
    But the video wasn't.

I didn't make it through, either. I was cringing so much my face hurt.

If you made it through, you would have found the lyrics hard to hear. They spoke lightly and played heavily.

Gee account management sucks. Never heard that before. Of course since account management was declawed in the interest of account planning and the "creative revolution" we have seen margins decrease, client loyalty evaporate and decent creative disappear. Coincidence. No way.Can not be. It has to be something else.

Friggin morons. Should set up a new social network for creatives...whiner
