Great improvements!

My suggestion for the next round of improvements would be to make the whole site wider - allowing for a wider right-hand column (where you could move some of the content that is currently above the comments).

Google friend Connect is now gone. I will see what other adjustments can be made to minimize or eliminate the scrolling headache.

I say this as a huge fan of Adrants -- so please see it as constructive crit. There are two reasons I don't leave many comments on this blog:
1_ I agree with others. The reason that there are few comments is the scrolling to get down to them.
2_I can't/don't want to wait for the page to load again from the front to get to the comments. This is the slowest loading blog I read -- esp since the Google Friend Connect was added. The header loads 1st, then the Goog Friend, then it's 10 seconds (or more) before the actual content pops up. 10 seconds isn't much to wait in the real world, but online -- it's an eternity.

Having said that -- I really like this Disqus system

Awesome! Disqus works well, except you'll start to get a lot of comments from guys named 'Kyteboarding'. ;)

It'll be nice to comment without having to open a new tab and check back every few minutes to see if the comment went through though!

Now all you need to do is figure out why your daily emails are formatted so wide! It drives me crazy. I have to scroll sideways to see the headline - and to read it, I have to highlight it as your copy is the same color as your background screen.
Since your new comments section has no way to post files, email me and I'll send you a screen capture so that you can see what I mean.

Russ. I agree completely. I wrestle with this stuff all the time. It's always a battle between what's best for readers and what needs to be done so there's revenue. I'm sure I can tweak this area a bit to make it better. Thanks for pointing it out.

Unrelated was too strong a word? Maybe just less related.

When you want readers to engage, clicking a link or scrolling two full page lengths is just not ideal from a usability standpoint. If you are truly hoping to generate more comments and discussion in the posts ... it's worth thinking about.

Let's see, unrelated? We write about the ad industry so there are job listings for people who need a job. We like to make it easy for people to find other stories of interest so we list related articles. Some people like to receive Adrants via emal tso we give them a place to sign up. Oh, and the big ugly ads? None of this would be possible were it not for the ads. It's just the way it is.

Tip #1: After reading the post, simply click "Comment" and it will flip you down the page directly to the comment section and bypassing all those "unrelated" sections.

Tip #2 There's this thing on a mouse called a scroll wheel. try it sometime. It's pretty awesome.

Probably has something to do with the newsletter template not being properly revised. Or, because the newsletter is generated at a particular point in time, it won't reflect comments made on the blog after the newsletter is sent.
